EQUIPMENT & INFRASTRUCTURE
Please consult the rules for using the laboratory equipment, as well as the complete list of available equipment. For formal requests for research partnerships or scheduling, please contact us by email: modprot.ufpb@gmail.com .
The infrastructure of the Modeling and Prototyping Laboratory (LM+P) is organized to encourage safe, efficient, and inclusive multi-user use, primarily favoring research activities and enabling support for teaching and outreach. The equipment is classified into three categories of complexity and technical specificity:
-
Category A – equipment for free use by appointment, allowing access to students, researchers and collaborators after a brief initial orientation;
-
Category B – equipment that requires prior training in specific modeling, as well as supervised scheduling, ensuring correct operation and proper use of associated materials and software;
-
Category C – highly complex equipment, the use of which requires specific technical training, controlled scheduling, and the mandatory use of protective clothing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ensuring compliance with occupational safety standards and the integrity of users and machines.
This categorization system allows for the optimization of infrastructure sharing between research groups both inside and outside the institution, ensuring responsible management, traceability of use, and preservation of the equipment's lifespan.
