Carlos Alejandro Nome Ph.D.
Researcher
Carlos Alejandro Nome Silva is an architect and urban planner, and a professor in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism (DAU) at UFPB.
She graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) (1998).
He completed a master's degree in Production Engineering, also at UFSC (2002).
She obtained her PhD in Architecture from Texas A&M University System (2008), where she developed studies on architectural programming applied to workspaces.
He completed his postdoctoral studies at UFSC in 2009.
Her teaching career includes stints at Texas A&M and UFRN before joining UFPB in 2012.
In the research field, he is part of the Models and Prototyping Laboratory (LM+P) at UFPB and coordinates the research group Performance and Innovation Applied to Design (DIAPROJ) .
His areas of interest and scientific activity focus on:
Architectural programming
Modeling and prototyping
Contemporary tools, techniques and methods of architectural design
Studies of urban metrics, especially in the Latin American context.
Among his notable projects is " CASA NORDESTE ," an initiative that investigates contemporary design tools and processes.
