Felipe Tavares, PhD.

Researcher

Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism (DAU) at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), Felipe Tavares is a Civil Engineer graduated from UFPB (2004), with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering (Vibrations in Structures) from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2006) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Vibrations in Structures) from UFPB (2011). He completed a Post-Doctorate in Parametric Modeling and Digital Fabrication at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism at UNICAMP (2017-2018).


His academic career includes working as a professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) between 2011 and 2019, where he conducted research and taught courses in the area of Structures and Computational Simulations applied to the design of architectural buildings.


Currently at UFPB, Professor Felipe Tavares coordinates the Research Center in Parametric Modeling and Prototyping (modAU), focusing on digital technologies applied to architectural and urban design. His research areas encompass Parametric Modeling, Digital Fabrication, Numerical Simulation, and Person-Space Interaction, with an emphasis on architectural and urban structures.


In addition to his academic work, Professor Felipe Tavares has experience in research and outreach projects, guiding undergraduate and graduate students on topics related to technological innovation in the field of Architecture and Urban Planning.
