Coordinator

Professor Natália Queiroz is an architect and urban planner, graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) in 2009. She holds a Master's degree in Industrial Design from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), completed in 2015. During this period, she developed an award-winning project at the Museu da Casa Brasileira, focused on sustainable parametric facades inspired by biomimicry. In 2023, she obtained her PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), with a research internship at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California, USA.

Currently, Natália is an associate professor in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), where she is part of the DIAPROJ research group ( Performance & Innovation Applied to Design Research ). Her research focuses on integrating parametric and algorithmic modeling with computational simulations to optimize the thermal, visual, and lighting performance of buildings. She has dedicated herself to developing performance-driven design processes, using Artificial Intelligence techniques and tools such as Rhinoceros 3D, Grasshopper, Ladybug/Honeybee, EnergyPlus, and Radiance.

In addition to her academic work, Natália is a visual artist with experience in graphic representation, prototyping, and algorithmic computational modeling. Her research aims to promote sustainable and efficient architectural solutions aligned with contemporary climate and environmental demands.
