Samira Elias Ph.D.

Researcher

Samira Elias Silva is an Architect and Urban Planner, with a Master's degree in Geography, focusing her research on Urban Rehabilitation and Historical Heritage. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Lisbon (Full Doctorate Abroad/CAPES). She developed an urban analysis methodology based on City Information Modeling (CIM ), capable of evaluating the quality of urban spaces and revealing morphological parameters.

Currently, she is a Visiting Collaborating Researcher at the Modeling and Planning Laboratory (LM+P/UFPB), coordinating the project "Experimentation with Urban Simulation Technologies for Sustainable Solutions" (BCB/CNPq).

She is a member of the Performance & Innovation Applied to Design Research group (DIAPROJ/UFPB) and a collaborator of the Design Computation Group (DCG) FA/ULisboa.

His research interests explore tools such as GIS ( Geographic Information Systems ), CIM ( City Information Modeling ), Generative Design, and Machine Learning applied to the simulation of urban models and the analysis of morphological parameters and patterns that can express urbanity, diversity, density, road accessibility, land use, and active facades, with the aim of optimizing urban design processes and sustainable territorial planning.
